Timing Rod

My new to me ( Force 40 ELPT) has what I think is a bent timing rod. Can any one check this out and let me know. Part # 23. Thanks!!!!!!

Looks like it's bent. Wonder how??
Finding a new one?? Not likely

Or make your own.
The plastic piece is available 10$

Thanks for the responce. I thought it looked strange. Engine was running fine until recently. Having flooding issues. Will rebuild carb when parts arrive.
