2006 Chaparral 216 SSI. Noticing wet carpet at the cockpit drain opening after cruising for a while. Wondering if there is a one way flap somewhere that is not performing. This is the first boat we have had with a cockpit drain. Port side drain giving the issue, starboard side drain seems fine. Any and all input will be welcomed.

Scuppers are to be 8" above the SWL

Weight your boat. You may have water logged flotation foam

I had to replace the flaps on our drains on our 2005 about 8 years ago.
Maybe Chaparral had a bad batch of them back then,

All great input. Thank you so much. I will investigate further when I am back at there again this weekend. Much appreciated.

Coes your bilge pump out the water ?Have you measured how deep the water is ? Does the pump get it all out ?
Bilge pump is down in the engine bay and pumps overboard. Cockpit drains are like scuppers and empty from the cockpit and straight out the sides. The water does not get to the bilge under normal circumstances. Thanks for the input though.
