If the engine was over cooling you may get milk in the rocker covers simply because the oil doesnt get hot enough to boil out any moisture out and it condenses under the covers and thus the milk . Is your t/stat working ?
I’m not sure. The temp gauge on the dash Never gets hot stays pretty steady. Good oil pressure too. Just want to get rid of that milky in the oil and somehow add something to clean up pan . Then put fresh oil , filter and put her back together. May switch out head , lifters. Pushrods over the winter.

Re check your compression numbers, new engines are only 150 psi, might be a bad gage.
It is a brand new gauge and I did it twice , my boat mechanic ( now retired) said that 180 was great so idk. I adjusted the valves got quieter and ran good but now I need to get that milk cleaned out of oil and engine somehow before I change the oil. I can’t even figure out how to change the oil because I can’t get to the pan bolt good enough to break it loose and I’ve tried to extract through dipstick but my brake bleeder pneumatic tool wouldn’t work nor a hand pump because hose too big to go in dipstick.

I adapt the hose for my vacuum bleeder to fit the outside of the tube, mine fits tight to the tube so I don’t need to clamp it. The tube goes to the bottom of the pan on a mercruiser, I’m not sure on a yamaha but I would think it would. Warm oil works best for extraction.

Polyethylene tube snaked inside the dipstick to the bottom of the oil pan. Suck it with whatever you have that sucks (besides the Yamaha outdrive ;) )

Ok I adjusted my valves which was a mess with the milk on them splattered everywhere 😩. The engine did smooth out and get quieter. Here’s the deal now I need to change my oil and I can not get to the dipstick block bolt and I can’t get my pneumatic brake bleeder to suck up the oil from the dipstick. I tried a hand pump no good either . I need to get that bad oil out and then somehow put something in the block to blend it out better. Any suggestions ? Who is it so difficult to change the flipping oil ! Sometimes I here this boat but my grandkids love it it seats 14 and I’ve put new gauges , floors , carpets , seats , stereo , Bimini etc in it so I’m not getting rid of it. Thanks. I’m covered in milk splatter and not happy right now ! You can’t put a drain pan under the motor either. They should have had a better system to change oil without pulling the dang thing. But it is a Yamaha smh
Got the plug out not much oil came out but it was milky. Going to pour quart of motor flush in it and see if that will get it cleaner. I will then change the oil and filter and try to run it and see how she does.

I use a $5 transfer pump that you can get at any auto parts store, Walmart or HF. The prices run $5-15 or so depending on where. Hook the small line to it and snake it down the dipstick. It’s a slow process. The pump draws a vacuum and you’ll hear and feel it working

I’m going to replace the thermostat before I put it back together. Not sure which one to get since there’s virtually no way to source
New parts

I did buy a battery powered transfer pump from Harbor Freight but the hose size wouldn’t go down into the dipstick. Tried several ways to get it through there but ended up able to get the plug out of dipstick block. Only problem is it’s very hard to get back in doesn’t seem like it’s catching the threads or tightening up and the block seems to be pushing back against me when I’m trying to reinstall it.
