What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

My bowrider has this one digital gauge. It seems to be a depth gauge but the readings don't make much sense. There's a toggle switch labeled "Depth" that has momentary-center-momentary function and I have no idea how it operates.

Can someone who's familiar please clue me in?

Don't know for sure but my Rinker had a switch added by the dealer. The issue is the digital depth gauge would get messed up, and to fix you would turn it off then back on

It looks like same thing

This dealer-added switch is in addition to the factory 3-position switch?

Most things are wired directly to battery on mine, but the gauges are wired to ignition. They're off when the key is off.

The momentary switch adjusts the depth gauge’s offset press one way to raise the baseline, the other to lower it. It’s for calibrating to your boat’s transducer position or water conditions. Hold the switch briefly to tweak the reading until it matches known depths.

While messing with the switch a long beep sounded--like an alarm. I'm not sure if I reset the zero depth or maybe it alarms at a minimum depth you can set. Tells you when to trim up?

Sounds like the depth alarm. It triggers at a preset minimum depth to warn you before it’s too shallow check your settings or trim up if needed.

I'm looking for someone who can tell me how to set/use it.
It might be displaying in meters or fathoms for all I know.

So I crawled half into the compartment ahead of my helm to get a model number off this depth sounder. It's a Standard Horizon D41BD sounder... and the Internet has no information on it. I called Yaesu, the company that swallowed Standard, and they have no documentation on the old models. Probably all went in the dumpster after the acquisition. It's an old, and very common, story.

I might try a new post--with a more accurate title--in hopes of catching the eye of someone familiar with this unit. Maybe in a couple sailing forums.

Thank you!

I see that's a UK archive site. The company that made the gauge was located in New Zealand. Maybe that's why I struck out finding it by Googling in the US.

Anyways... It's a pay site and the preview is too blurred out to even tell if the download is in English. I've got the manual for a D41BC and I've been playing around at my dock to see if the instructions are useful for my model--and so far everything seems to work the same. I just have to rock the toggle switch down when the instructions say to press the "v" button, press up for "^". Do nothing for 5 sec. when it says to press both at the same time.

I'll need to take her out into deeper water to check operation & accuracy. Too shallow at my dock to get a good reading.

I'm able to download the PDF and can see it without blurriness. shoot me a pm if you want it
I tried again and was able to download the manual. I must have gotten derailed to a spam lookalike site previously.

THANK YOU for your assistance with this.

I find it really odd that a popular model (Capris) of a major manufacturer has a depth sounder that nobody knows anything about. Was this a rare option? It's definitely factory--the switch panel has a factory-printed overlay identifying each switch.
