anc switch.

So... I realize this is a dumb question. But....
on my Four Winns the bilge stopped working. The switch itself stopped lighting up. I'm assuming a fuse. I got underneath the console and saw that the wiring there looks to me like a bunch of angry snakes. Might be beyond my meager abilities. (I've done some wiring for lights and whatnot on my old Jeeps but it seemed more straightforward. And bigger...)

The question I have is that there is an 'ANC' switch, which I always assumed was for something 'ancillary' that you might want to wire in. For me I wouldn't mind wiring in an LED light for the interior of the boat. But... the switch looks like it's already wired *and* tied in with the other switches wiring harnesses. I'm not even sure where to start. It lights up nicely when I turn it on but it does nothing.

Has anyone ever used them? I'm having a hard time finding a specific wiring diagram for my boat.

The best use for the ACC switch is to wire it to the automatic extending stripper pole.
At least that's what I have been told...
Anyway, it reads like it's time to do some tracing of wires. Perhaps this is wired to something that no longer exists on your boat.

Not a dumb question. ANC is likely pre-wired for an accessory. The switch lights up because it's getting power, but the circuit isn't complete because there's no device connected to the other end.

For your bilge: Definitely check the fuse first. There should be a fuse panel (often near the switch or under the helm). Look for a labeled fuse. If that's good, the switch itself might be bad.

For the ANC switch: The wires for it probably run to a dead end somewhere in the boat, maybe tucked behind the helm or in a storage compartment. You'd connect your LED light to those wires.
