Where is " up here " ?-----I have used a milling machine with boring head to do these motors.-----Friend ( now deceased ) let me use his equipment.----Cost me $25 / hole.----Carefully honed cylinders at home myself.----Done many of them.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a 70hp around here for sale. 15hp and under and 115 and above are common sometimes 30 to 40 but not much in between.

Just sold this for $1500 after going through it.

I bought two and they were a matched set that came off a whaler. 1986 and the vro's are going strong. Paid $1000 for the set

I did replace the pulse limiter with the blue one.

Stuff seems way more expensive up here than in the states. for a 1000 bucks here youd be lucky if it ran and or if the motor was toast. That being said I also still have my 49cc engine tucked away. I wanted a 56 for the power i guess. But how much better is it? not sure. Finally after feeling more closely, you can feel the transfer on the walls with my finger. gotta wonder if were getting into resleeving? and is it worth it.

In my area I can get an excellent used 70 for $500 saving significant denaros for other stuff.

Yep, doesn't pencil here.
You will pay much more for a good one around here....very popular size, so if the motor is in really good shape...double that price easily. However ...be aware...many really nice motors just look good, but have other so called "minor" issues !! I always say, if the issue is minor, fix it before trying to sell it ! In years past, I always had a way to test run, A compression gage, fresh fuel mix, so a buyer could feel confident he was getting a good running motor....usually first one out bought.....

Yep...retired tool maker here, did a few small motors on our Bridgeport mill with a boring head over my 50 years. Once setup, it was not that hard.
