Seems close. Ignition switch started turning in the console. Replaced that, no change, although it still spins. Fresh gas, cleaned filter, good bulb, faintly smelled gas. Have spark also, and kill switch is good. I'm stumped within my work ability. Dealer might have to come look at it. Any ideas? There is a lone brown wire hanging from the wires going to the ignition switch but I don't think anything became disconnected. Is this probably for horn or tach? Hoping it's not the VST. Also it's a 2006.

What still spins ? The ignition switch ? Does the motor spin over when turning the key?

You reach under the console and do what?----Energizing the starter , with " ignition on " wires as well ??

The ignition switch is not secured in the console. I open the console door and hold the ignition switch as I turn the key. The engine problem began when the switch was still secured. I turned it over so much I must have loosened the lock washer mechanism that holds it in place.
