This is a general question that I can't seem to find an answer for. I purchased a used 2018 suntracker from a local marina that purchased it from the original owner. Upon further inspection, I noticed the sticker on the mercury big foot 40hp states it's a 2012 engine. The pontoon is a 2018 suntracker. Some research says the local boat shop could have installed that engine new from an old (new) stock, others state this shouldn't be the case. Does anyone here know how I can find out? Thank y'all in advance

my purchase of a used 2006 pontoon in 2017 was from the original purchaser. He had kept all the paperwork. The boat came with an '05 Merc. 60hp motor. This was reflected on the title and the motor had its own title.
The trailer is a '01 Karavan.
Other than original paperwork or a dealer admission, I don't know of any way to prove otherwise.

Right. It would be nice to know but it is what it is. Runs perfect so no issues there. I just find it odd is all
