Help on Dash Gauges (Analog / SMG)

Hello, I am receiving conflicting info on dash gauges. I am buying an '07 Suzuki df250 for my Mako. A marine retail store in FL, is holding my order to be sure I have the correct gauge. I bought the SMG4 and they are saying that my '07 engine will only accept analog gauges, and that 2012 and newer use the digital.. Some online sources are stating that I have a choice between the analog, OR the advanced Suzuki Multi-Function Gauge (SMG).
I also saw a video regarding installing that there is a plug on the port side that just needs to be plugged into so the digital gauges can be used.
I would appreciate some clarification on this. Thx..

There is an option of going to digital with the installation of an analog to digital convertor, but information provided by the convertor is typically limited to a small subset of the data available in a true digital to digital interface. Functionality would be limited
