Last time my son called about the car not starting it was pretty simple. Did a couple test and found fuel pump was not running, so new pump and it's up and running

This time so far not as simple. I'm driving up tomorrow with tools and see if I can figure it out, bringing scanner.

Testing so far
Sprayed carb/choke cleaner into the intake and it fired right up and died once that was burned off
Tested relay and it's good but replaced anyway.
Jumped relay to bypass and still would not run, pump is not running

Fuel pump relay pin 30 has 12V full time, pin 85 gets power when key turns ON but not started

The pump receives ground from PCM so I'm thinking it's either bad wiring or PCM issue.

I've seen mentioned that some will not run if they aren't getting a reading from the oil pressure sensor. This was on S10's though.

post the question up on
www.allpar.com
it's a good Chrysler website, there are some knowledgeable people that helped me a few times, post it in the Repair and Maintenance section....
Any codes? would be good to know...

Drove up to my sons this morning (3 hours one way) and figured it out

The early Chargers/Challengers would over heat at the electrical connector on top the pump. This is a 2012 and the connector was replaced with the new style so that wasn't the issue.

The problem was the splice connection used to change the connector corroded and was barely making connection. I cut the splice out and and rewired and it's up and running. Took about 20 minutes in the rain

Drove back, good thing is we (wife and I) noticed a new Chinese place and stopped for lunch. Food was great, so at least we now have a new place when we travel to see the grand kids
