Any updates? I have the first of 2 431 engines arriving tomorrow to begin my rebuild project.

Finishing up hunny do project atm . Back on the boat soon ! I have replaced the plywood on the sides of the boat shop with metal panels . I’ll be insulating the shop soon also .
Metal buildings condensate badly . I can’t have water dripping while trying to varnish..

So looking at how I need to place the bilge blower . I don’t have enough room to discharge out of the rear vents . Is there any reason I can’t discharge at the midship vents ? And should I install 2 ? One on each side … IMG_6163.jpegIMG_6165.jpegIMG_6166.jpeg

I can easily install around the middle of the motor area even if I make an aluminum plenum box of sorts

What is preventing you from the hose getting to one of your rear vents?
Really tight space . I’m not sure how good of a seal it needs to be or if the fumes would just work their way out the vent . It’s right above the sending unit on starboard and above the fuel shutoff valve on the port side .

Sam, I made aluminum vent plenums for my boat out of thin aluminum sheet that I folded on the bench, riveted together and then sealed with aluminum HVAC duct to make a sharp turn. maybe you can do something like that with one of the standard cobra style 90 degree elbows.

That’s a possibility… Working on prop strut shaft alignment atm … I’m having to shim the backend of the strut about 3/16” to nothing in the front to get angle right . Going right back in the same holes . Got a wood shim clamped and drying with 5200 to the strut . Once dry can use the grinder to shape what I need to the hull . Never done this but think it will work ..
