So at a conference in Biloxi MS, there was a reception by the pool I attended and had 1 cocktail. I get in my rental car and ask the phone for directions to the closest C store. I am driving and pull into a store that was not branded. Cop pulls up behind me and I got out of the car and asked what the problem was. Woman cop asked me what I was doing, I explained exactly what brought me there. She said sir get in your car and follow me out of this area and advised me to stay closer to the casinos for my own safety.

similar. Hilton garden inn, jackson ms. Security out front no biggie to me. After dark so naturally i asked him where a good place to eat was because hotel food is usually grim at best. He sad nah man you dont wanna do that so i went back in a the food was better than grim.

about three years later my counterpart from denver was travelling my region with be, we wanted sushi. There were three in walking distance so we just walked out. Zero issues, quiet streets about 8pm like me before.

I often wonder if the huge black security guard was a tactic to drive business back into the hotel. I mean if he said no, kinda feel intimidated if you continue on...

Reminds me of the old man that lived across the street when I was a kid. He would use an old hand crank grinder and grind a NY strip into a burger.

My daughter at least once a year has one head processed into 100% ground. I guess when you run 500 head grinding up one whole doesn't hurt. It is the best ground beef you will ever have though.

I used to stop over at my Uncle in Christchurch (mid South Island) whilst traveling between home (Invercargill ,bottom of the south Island ) and Boarding school in Nelson (top of South Island ) ....( Geometry lesson over ) ...(sorry bout all the brackets ๐Ÿ˜) Anyhow one of his flatmates worked in sales for a record co ( talking early to mid 70's ) so I got to hear what was new . Good times ,oh yeah . My Uncle had a thing for air hostess's . Hind sight an all that ,man he must have scruffed quite a few , upside for me was the VIP treatment I got on any flight I was on going to and from school.
I do remember one night he (we) sneaked into one of his conquest's yard and sticky taped bananas to some tree in her yard ,which I recall was funny ...and that was before he told me he had put an add in the paper advertising cheap bananas from her address . And the time 4 policemen jumped out of a squad car and grabbed me off the street by the lollie ( candy ) shop not far from his house ...I was about 12-13 at the time ......oh yeah ...he was a policeman ....all his working life . He took me surfing and snow skiing a lot .He was better to me than anyone else in my life. Now he is in a home for dementia ....doesnt even know me now โ˜น๏ธ.
Yes Joe , life is waaaay to short , and, sadly not always fair .
