Re: trimming won't stay up
most likely you have both, my 200 has one button. From all the way down, when I push the up button, it trims until it reaches 20 degrees up, at which time it goes into the tilt mode, (you can usually tell because it rises much faster) . because the tilt is geared differently to raise the motor faster, it cannot take the pressure of a motor going over a few knots, so the put a limiter in the way of a solinoid that monitors how fast your going (rpm's) and if you are in tilt mode, the solinode opens, allowing fluid to pass until the motor is down to at most 20 degrees.

my problem is that my solinode slowly leaks, so that when i am running properly trimed, the engine keeps going down (very frusturating)

the do sell tilt only tilts as well as trim only trims, but ive never seen one.

if your engine cane be raised all the way by your "devise" and during the first few inches or so it seems like its raising slowly , then i would say you have trim as well.

besides, you qouted your manuel as saying it had a 1500 rpm limiter
