Need Info on Mariner 15HP

I looked at the chart on the japenese link and cant find the year.15m, sn 684cs02619. Just accuired this little motor from my uncle. I need to clean the carb, new plugs and the pullrope needs to be reworked. HOW DO I CLEAN THE CARB AND REWORK THE PULLROPE?<br /> John

eppinett <br /><br />I would check that serial number again, as I cannot find it either. Maybe the "S" is a "5". Nevertheless, you need to order a rebuild kit for the carb and remove it from the motor to clean it. Sometimes, if it's not too bad, you can dump some "Seafoam" in the gas tank and clear it up. do a search at the top of this page for Seafoam. As for the starter, I would not want to give advice on that because it can be dangerous to service if not experienced. I would take it to a small engine repair shop and let them deal with it. Also, a Manual for you're motor would be a great help.

I Have a Mariner 15 1980 with similair s.n. but one more digit than you it is very faint on the i.d. plate and difficult to read, maybe yours is too! I found mine on this site - http://www.marinshopen.se/guide/mp/mar20.htm <br />hope this helps

Thanks Doc, and others. I have been through my omc 9.5 1970. But this Yama/Mariner is built totally different.

Found a new number. So the sn is 684cs026194 and I am thinking this is a 1982 model.
