    OMC Nuts & Bolts - Home Depot OK or Volvo?

    I am in the process of replacing my manifolds, and would like to replace the nuts and lock washers holding the manifold to the studs. Now would galvanized nuts from Home Depot work, or do I need to get them from Volvo? Are there quality differences? 34S.

    Paint on new OMC Manifold Riser mating surfaces??

    I just received my new manifold and riser kit from GLM. I noted that all the mating surfaces - manifold to gasket, and manifold/riser - are all painted. Should these be sanded down to bare metal before installing, or are they good to go as long as they are flat/flush? Thanks for any advise. 34S.
