    Throttle lever assembly pin

Aside from a OEM part how about just a small bolt with a nylon lock nut. that would keep it in place . if needed to hold the spring install 2 extra washers and keep the bolt loose a bit to allow movement. if the original pin extends below the female section and has a hole in it...

just position the piston to close off the in-out ports half way down and you can clean the exhaust section and just run a narrow vacum tube hooked-to to the vacum cleaner to suck out the debris nothing will enter the cyl chambers . Doesn't need to be shiny!!

Actually it wasn't that bad I just used a small scrapper for the big chuncks and while the GC was off I ran a stiff BBQ brush with SS bristles down the exhaust section. I suspect if one wanted to do a 100% clean job a good pressure washer would blast the crud away real nice butall I did...

if the bolt were never removed there is always the possibility the factory paint sealed the edge stopping the capilary action of the release agent used. Try using a sharp and pointy exacto knife blade all around the bolt head to remove the paint . A water clear silicone spray should...

options options but pulling the head isn't that hard to do , you can clean out built-up carbon in the exhaust section :-) , drill out that bolt unreachable bolt. etc,,, I have done the solid heli-coil thing with success (don't like/use the spring type) or swap head

Starts right up sometimes, but other times crank no start

fwiw... my old 4 cyl Merc 50 would burn 6 US. gal/Hr wot... so a 6 gal in less than 1hr for airshot's 70 seems in the ballpark ! that said better fix yours....(3 gallons of fuel within 10 minutes ?) before the EPA jails you :)

1977 70 hp johnson thermostat housing gasket

Dry fit should do.. we are talking water not fuel. At worst even a small drip will probably close up after a while due to mineral build up but a thin layer of goo won't hurt either.
