    Nobody fishing?

Heat index is made up hype. Was your 104 heat index the result of 94 degrees and 50% humidity or 84 degrees and 90% humidity?

    What is this?

Switch contacts are not replaceable. You need a new ignition switch. Recommend doing some basic troubleshooting before breaking out the "Parts Cannon"

    downrigger cable & radio question

A bad cable connection doesn’t discriminate between radio checks and broadcast messages. Having said that, VHF is line of sight communications. If you can’t see the broadcast antenna, you can’t hear broadcast. On a typical day, you’re not going to hear anything that more than 3-4 miles away...

Tools that younger people would not recognize.

Old school is right..60+% of today’s population were not born yet…lol In comparison, my daily driver just rolled 250k miles on 12 spark plugs, 5k oil changes, and a fuel filter.

    Artificial Intelligence

If your worried about someone seeing you naked, the first thing you do is close the curtains…then you lock the door and put the key in your pocket. Got rid of cable. Had my provider switch me over to Ethernet, installed a firewall on the router and browse behind a VPN First thing I delete...

    deck waterproofing

Not sure about brands, but the formulation makes a difference. For long term durability you want a penetrating oil, not “waterproofing” like Thompson. Been using Flood, CWF-UV since my deck was new. Still looks great after 25 years

Constant drain of 1 of 2 batteries

Doesn’t have to be “broken” to be leaking current across the windings

Constant drain of 1 of 2 batteries

Not necessarily. A 12V switch would be all that is required to actuate a remote battery isolation relay. If that is the case, that would be high on my list of things to check as well.

    Better solution for this "seat"

My last boat had a similar setup except it had a door and mounted a pedestal seat to the top

Constant drain of 1 of 2 batteries

A battery switch on the helm is weird. Never heard of or seen of such a thing on a Grady. I have a light at the helm that lets me know when the ACR is active. Have a OFF/ON/Combine switch on the transom What year and Model? All the Grady wiring diagrams are on-line

2000 Optimax 150s both overheating after spark plugs change. Need help

I One plug is platinum, the other is iridium. MGK says they are interchangeable with the only difference being the platinum is gapped to 0.044 the iridium is gapped to 0.032. Fouling typically is not a plug problem on an injected motor. One plug would be an injector. Fouling on all holes, on...

    Really dry around here

We have no lakes. The rivers are killers (strong under tow) and you’re not the top of the food chain in other swimmable locations. The “cement pond” is the only way to go. While technically still in drought, we’ve had storm after storm come through the area. Pumped 2” of water out of the pool...
