you need ta locate tha other end of that tan/blue coming from tha over temp sensor.. it should terminate on tha plastic term strip along with another tan/blue tha goes into tha main harness.. tha other end should be under tha dash somewhere.. may be attached to a "bad" buzzer.. make sure tha...
have you closed tha over temp sensor ta see if it has a buzzer on tha other end somewhere?.. merc use ta put tha buzzer in tha control box sometimes..
merc temp gauge?.. do you know it tha temp gauge sensor is calibrated for tha gauge.. more importantly is a mech, not electric water pressure...
look on tha port side of clamp bracket.. you should see tha end of tha rod that tha center tilt cylinder attaches too.. it will have a slot in tha end of it.. there should be two holes for tha screws that hold tha sensor on.. your sensor will look like #24 in tha diagram attached.. it will have...
jus wanna self correct.. they did build a "crank rated 200" in '82 that did have tha vertical front half.. only year that happened... so it is technically a 200... sorry my bad.............
this would lean towards a ecu pump driver problem.. disconnect tha pump from tha ecu power.. both positive and negative... hook tha pump up to any purple (switched hot) on positive and ground on motor.. this by passes tha ecu.. pump will run anytime key is on....

with #28 and 29 removed it should drop out.... don't remember any "special" tools but its been a minute since i did anything like that!.. like 20+ years.
should be able ta pull it without removin' tha motor from tha boat.. jus be sure ta pay very close attention on orientation of all tha parts and motor won't collapse on ya when ya pull it off.....

but with tha vertical front half thats not possible.. all 200's had a horizontal front half.. really strange unless its...
need a picture of tha "clamp tag" and one of tha welsh plug.. look in this area (pic below) for tha build date.. its there but sometimes hard ta see.. will be m/d/yr.. tha one below is a very good stamping (high performance).. thats on tha "block half" at tha base of number two cylinder, kinda...
one thing for sure tha motor in tha picture is NOT a 200 with vertical reeds but even MercNet says tha number is a 200??? its either a 150 or 175... if tha year is right ('82) its a 150.. no 175's in '82.... tha over temp sensor should be mounted between 1 and 3 spark plugs by a triangle shaped...
gray= tach sender wire
purple= switched 12v power
black/yellow= kill circuit
yellow/red= starter circuit
brown/blue= temp gauge
yellow/black= choke/enrichner circuit
these colors stand for all merc wiring i know from at least 1980 up.. they have never changed as for as i know..........
its a...
only if you change tha "complete" TnT assembly.. yours has different pump and motor and uses (two wire motor) relays.. tha '86 uses (three wire motor) solenoids... think CDI makes an adapter kit to use tha relays with a three wire solenoid system....
might wanna take a look at tha icm..... it controls pretty much everything.
this pretty much indicates trigger and/or icm module......
