    Steering fork bushing removal 290a sp

    Have water accumulating in the bilge and i suspect it is coming from the shaft on the steering fork as I have a lot play in the fork, after removing the fork I can,t see any V seal or a brass bushing in the hole.     Dp on an aq171 c?

    Has anyone ever heard of changing out a 290a sp to a 290dp? My boat is a fiberglass west Australian made Baron Sportsman, 18'6" with an aq171c. Would that engine have the power to utilize the dp?

    AQ171A raw water pump

    I noticed I have a steady drip coming from the raw water pump and I have priced a new one out and they are very expensive. Can I rebuild this pump? I would tear it off and have a look but I am away at work and would like to order parts while I am away. Thanks in advance.

    Aq 171c running rough after timing belt change.

    Vp 290 A SP lifts up when outdrive fully lowered.

    Probably a silly question, but... When the leg is fully lowered, should it be possible to manually pick it up roughly 15degrees? seems to me that it should be locked so as not to shift up when reversing? Perhaps I have to do some adjustment on the pawl? Thanks in advance.
