I am about to remove to rebuild a damaged (propeller shaft sheared) lower unit from my 1992 Johnson 150 HP outboard. Is there any special steps to take in removing the lower unit such as sequence of unbolting, shift location before unbolting etc?
I have a Model # J150EXENC 1992 Johnson 150 HP Silver Star Series 60 degree 25 inch shaft RH turning outboard in need of a lower unit. Can I interchange a Model # J150VXSIG 2001 lower unit to my 1992? It also is a 25 inch shaft but the "V" denotes a special gearcase...???
