Since there is very limited information on the 1991-2006 Campion Victoria/Explorer model of boat (the one with the hard top/cabin) available anywhere, I'd like to post what I have on the subject. Feel free to correct or update any info here. I DON'T CLAIM IT TO BE 100% ACURATE!!! Use at your own...
Can someone explain to me why I'm getting a hyper spark or ignition pulse on #1 & #6 wires coming off the distributer? I have a 1996 4.3LX A1G2 with thunderbolt 4 ignition.
What I mean is, I clamped my timing light to #1 wire and at idle 700 RPM (tach reading), it shows 900+ RPM with the...
So, in the video, the outboard has had the new thermostat installed for a few months now and it's been running fine all summer but I'd like to get an opinion on the tell-tail streams. Do they seem normal? Engine is up to temperature btw.
I checked the RPM accuracy of the analog (dash) gauge against my timing light. The dash gauge was showing 100 RPM more than the timing light at 3000 RPM (timing light showed 2900 RPM vs the gauge's 3000 RPM reading). The same difference at 3500 RPM. I was a little apprehensive to run it higher...
Thanks for the insight but I have done all this already. Since this is just my trolling motor, it doesn't very often get run at WOT. Unless my main breaks down. Thankfully this has only happened once in 7 years. :)
I guess I should update this thread... The thermostat was the culprit. I've been out trolling with it all summer and the oil is perfect. Not milk or discoloration of any kind. Thanks for the info peeps!
I have power assist with the Mercruiser and the trim tab zinc helps to keep a neutral center on the steering. I did have the flat one on it and it turns hard to port if I let go of the wheel. The fin helps stay centered.
Not yet. I'd like to make sure my tach is accurate before I try it. I did push it to 4500 briefly and it went there no problem. Seemed like it wanted to keep going.
Well what a difference! The wife and I went for a rip today with a full tank of fuel and some picnic supplies. We also had the dinghy with us too. Wasn't a heavy "fishing trip load" by any means.
1st thing I noticed was the boat seemed to track a lot better going through a "No Wake Zone". Very...
No, it's not adjustable, it just has the cylinder switch at the back. I guess I could hook up the light and then set up my GoPro and watch it through the app. Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂
