Fresh fish has no fishy smell. Old spoiled fish smells. Been to both places.
Invisible boat ?
yep , catching your own is the best way but the down side , for me any way , is that when you are reduced to having to buy fish nothing seems fresh .Fresh fish has no fishy smell. Old spoiled fish smells. Been to both places.
, if you wanted to catch a fish it sure does the job
If 17 mono swap to braid. My wife and I went over to our favorite lunker hole last evening. Unfortunately, the entire pond was covered in scum. We fished anyway.
My wife caught a number of bluegill, which she used for bait. She did get a couple of big bites, but couldn't get them in.
I only got one bite just after sundown, using a Senko, but I didn't even get the hook set. I was too busy blabbing.
A couple days ago I bought a 9 foot spinning rod combo deal from Walmart. It was pre-spooled with 17 pound test line. I'd hoped to be able to cast my lures much farther across the pond with the new rig, but it didn't happen. I only reached about the same distance as my regular rods. I figure the heavier line plus the light lure weight was the cause. I guess I need to buy heavier baits!
It was still nice being out there. A young (30s) veteran joined us out there and he and I had a nice conversation until after dark and my wife was insisting that we go home! I would have kept going!![]()
