May be an evolutionary blend. Fish ain't too particu,ar where their sperms go....
There is a red eye bass aka coosa bass I've caught a few times at a friend's river down in Huntsville. Looks similar, and at 8 inches was a nice (relative) size and like all stream/river fish fight better than lake fish.
On the canoe in the narrows on Lake Mojave. Trolling.with a 9" trout swimmer lure.
The blood on.the fish is mine. Stuck myself untangling the lure from the net.
