    Startup procedure

I thought this might be an interesting and informative post. What do you do when starting your Chrysler outboard? Here is what I do with my 1974 135hp. 1. Lower motor into the water. 2. Pump gas bulb until firm (if it's not to noisy you can hear that the gas stops filling the float bowl) 3...

1974 Chrysler 135 hp, Took it out to the lake today. Starter engages onto the flywheel but won't spin the engine enough to start it. The starter will turn the flywheel about 3 or 4 teeth. I can turn the engine by hand by grabbing the flywheel and turning it. One time it did spin the engine for...

Float bowls overflowing when titled up

1974 Chrysler 135 hp. When ever I tilt the motor up, for example when trailering the boat, fuel drips out of the carbs. It seems like it comes from the float bowl seals. They are new and tight although I am afraid to over tighten them and strip them out. Maybe there is a torque specs. It also...

I replaced the impeller in my 1974 Chrysler 135hp outboard at the beginning of the season last year. It ran with no problems for 3 months. Now if I idle around for more than 10 minutes while trolling the overheat alarm comes on. If I drive faster it goes way. Where should I start? How hot should...
