    Draft of SternDrive

I have a 19' StingRay BowRider with 3.0LX and Alpha One/ GenTwo leg. What does this draft? And are sterndrives typically sitting lower in the water than, say, an outboard? Is the difference a lot? Thanks...

    Where Can I Get These?

I'm talking about these grey, plastic trim rings by the stern. They're on the ends of the air vent ducts from the engine bay. They're flaking off to the touch and I would like to replace them - checked several of the usual vendors (Attwood, *********, etc,) to no avail. Any help greatly...

    Adding Tilt/Trim Switch

Everything I read is for outboards. I'd like to add a switch somewhere accessible by the stern after the cover is all snapped down on the boat. Is there a kit for this designed for a sterndrive? Or, do I have to buy a rocker switch/wire separately and just mount it wherever?

    Oil Change

1997 3.0LX I know, I know, what a NOOB! But I've only had this boat for a couple of months. But if I want to change oil myself, do I just allow it to drain into the bilge and then collect it from the outside at the drain plug? Seems kinda messy. Or is it vacuumed out of the dipstick...

    3.0 LX Tune Up

Gents, I'd like to get cap, rotor, & plug wires for 1997 3.0 LX with EST ignition. Everything I check over on the parts side only goes for the 1990-1995 models. What happened in 1995 to cause the change? And where can I obtain a tune-up kit? Thanks...

    Skeg Guard?

Soooo, there's only one reason to have installed one of these right? To hide damage? And the screws are those one-way type - you can't back them out with a regular screw driver...

    Auto Choke Last Word

So my curiosity was really piqued with this discussion. And now I know "the rest of the story". Thanks for helping! FWIW, and I know it really helped me? I couldn't, for the life of me, figure this out - but know now that it's really very logical, like all things mechanical, eh? 12VDC...

    What's Its?

Anyone ever seen the likes of this? Found it in the boat whilst removing/replacing carpet and upholstery for an upgrade. Bigger hole is threaded, smaller is not thru...

    '97 WesCo Trailer Axle

Gentleman, I have to replace the axle under this trailer as the one hub has the nut welded to the spindle! Are leaf-springs set-ups such as this, i.e., with a bolt attachment at one end and the straight end of a leaf through a clamp at the other end still available? Thanks in advance...

    '97 StingRay 190 RS

Hello All, The whole interior is shot on this poor boat. Torn seams and mold/mildew everywhere. So, has anyone had experience with removing the side panels? Thanks as always...

    Replacing Trailer Axle

Please forgive the noob questions. But I need to replace the trailer's axle. Right side hub has nut welded in place and the other requires a lock tab spindle washer which I got wrong size (1") for so it's currently Loc-Tited in place. Replacements seem to be listed by weight rating. So do...

    14 1/2 x 19

What's wrong with this photo? Prop is for a Mercruiser 120 I/L 4 1R sterndrive. Thrust washer is on the drive-shaft and I have the nut. Seems fairly obvious that a couple things may be missing here. I realize I'll have to have the prop itself reconditioned, but can I order whatever it is...

    120 I/L 4 / Sterndrive ID Questions

Gentlemen, Have a possible reclamation project that I'm trying to identify for parts ordering, etc. Appears to be 1983 vintage based on the hull number, but numbers missing from the out-drive. So, is this an Alpha One? Also, on the engine (6669253), I'm trying to figure out which exhaust...

    No Cotter Pin

So I've replaced the hub on son-in-laws boat trailer - no problem. Except for the fact that the spindle doesn't appear to have a hole in it to accept a cotter pin. There's a flat machined into the end of the spindle, so is some sort of special washer needed to secure the castellated nut? I...

    Socket Size

Gentlemen, I'll be trying to help out son-in-law today while he's at work. Hub/bearing has failed on his 19' I/O boat trailer. Are the castellated nuts standard on these? What size socket should I take along when I head over to where the trailer is parked? Thanks in advance...

    '87 Merc 150 VR4

Trying to get a possible V-6 purchase to go. Has fresh fuel, will not start. When I crank the starter with a (brand new) spark plug laying out on the block, no arc. No 12V at the small wires on the coils, or the junction blocks/modules that are the source of the wires to the coils, either...

    Hopin' This'll Buff Out

Hello All Many of you won't remember but I availed myself of the considerable talent here last spring and was able to resurrect a very old boat and motor. It was a dream come true for me and I've had many enjoyable times on Lake Wylie since around last June. Tuesday however was quite something...

Hey All, I'm looking for a source for replacement drain and fill plugs with washers for my 1975 Evinrude 70HP outboard. I checked the link at the top here and was unable to come up with anything. Part numbers (from epc.brp.com) are as follows: 0307551 PLUG, Fill & drain upper (1) 0318544...
