    Easiest way to weigh a boat

    Unload the boat. Plenty of info here and on the u tubes on how to. weigh the trailer the reload and weigh. Subtract trailer weight and compare to oem spec.

    I use oxy acetylene to heat to beat corrosion. BFH to beat it out with correct size punch, then look after disassembly to decide if need to ream oversize, use a bushing and new pin, or can old pin be cleaned up.

    The stringers don't have to be fair. The concern is more about a rough cut for mechanical bond. Whatever you bond then in with will eat the roughness. Then coving before glass will smooth what needs smoothed. Just make sure clean before each step, and if using epoxy, don;t forget amine blush...

    All diagnosis starts with splitting the systems. Look into the 12 step diagnostic procedure. The Gov spent a lot of tax money developing it. Figure out where the problem is then narrow down.

    I started my latest project 4 yrs ago with a 1 yr timeline. Of course the covids did get in the way, Been back on it every day and hope to splash just in time to winterize . :)

    I would suggest picking up a new one to get back on the water, then look at thread repair and spend time to get it done, no hurry, back on water already , then swap in the repaired cyl and see how it works. How we learn.

    I would assume by the question being asked you might not be familiar with thread repair. A new cylinder would probably be best option.

    I don't think trim will make the engine stall. Nosedive on holeshot, yes. I would think the not good sounding noise needs diagnosed first. Watch the tabs while someone runs with switch to see if they are working.

    Aluminum and fiber glass

    If you have the wood out, use it as a template while it is still in correct shape, Simple to cut new wood CDX is fine, do not use treated. Glass the new wood to have a long living floor. Why use ugly wood. Replacing it is a small effort at this point.
