I have my first pontoon allmost ready to get wet :D
It came with a scissor lift trailor -
My only concern is loading it at the ramp-
Just looks like it will be difficult to "line up" since i really cant see the front of the pontoons :confused:
How many of 'toon owners have some sort of a PORTABLE MARINE TOILET :eek:
Looking at different styles & would like to hear from those that have a style they like & how they have it "installed" :rolleyes:

I need to swap out a couple of motors-
A 1981 115 Johnson & a 1986 110 Johnson -
Can three strong men pick up & carry (and "handle") them 30' from one boat to the other or am i going to need a hoist of some sort?

I've done auto painting before but never clear coat & never fiberglass-
Do you mix/thin the clearcoat same as any colored paint or is it a different mixture? Would you still shoot mostly thinner on it to "kill" the overspray?
Just want to add a coat of clearcoat on my deckboat in the very near...

So I need advice on a GPS system to know where the heck i am on a lake & how to get to where i need to go :eek: I was on a lake today I've fished before & i thought i knew exackly where i was & where the ramp was---WRONG :confused: Somehow i got turned around & BARELY found the ramp before...
Is it best to just leave it plugged in to "Maintain" batteries or unplug after the green lights are on?
Does it hurt to start the motor while its plugged in?
1987 Johnson 110 with T&T
A---The tach won't registor at all at any time
B---The tach will registor for a short time at crank up then die
C---The tach will registor crazy readings whenever it feels like it
OK, I've run my boat all summer & still going strong :)
Problem is i just installed a Lowrance unit that reads voltage -
Today is the first time i had it on the water using the Lowrance, all day it only read 12.4 - 12.5 volts :( I have it running through the fuse panel & not directly to the...
First will two transponders mounted a couple inches apart interfear with each other?
Second will a speed (paddlewheel) sensor interfear with a transducer mounted within a couple inches of it?

I miss my X75 which i loved :( Did'nt feel right pulling all of it off the boat i sold)

OK, first i admit i'm stoopid on Marine GPS's :redface:
Now that thats out the way the question is---
I have a Garmin 172 GPS on my boat, all i use it for now is too read speed-- I know it has a sonar in there but i have no idea what to get to hook it up to use it??? Theres about 8 - 10 wires...
My tach works great for the first 30 seconds or so after I start it -
After that it's just hit & miss :confused:
Goes to zero then maybe pegs out to 6000 when i know its at maybe 3000:eek:
Just a bad tach maybe :(
