Another what is this worth thread

I have a 1979 merc 20hp with controls, electric start, and a new gas tank (6gals) with the new cables. It runs good and starts right up. I bought it last year to be a kicker for the new to me starcraft up in Canada. (I wanted a backup just in case with a new to me boat) I do not feel I need...

OK I am an owner now

Just added to the fleet. In addition the the starcraft and tracker I now own a 1999 Sea Doo GSX Limited. Picked it up with a brand new trailer for 2100.00 out the door. Is that a good deal? It is like new and from a dealer. Any thoughts on this rig? I am a complete novice on jet skis...

    1999 130hp rude question

I have had a few problems with the merc 135 on my starcraft and can pick up a 1999 rude 135 that is completely rebuilt. It threw a rod so it will get a new block as well. The merc was an 84. It will cost me a grand and the merc that was also a new rebuild. what is the opinion on this here?

    1984 merc 135hp question

So I bought this 135 hp from a dealer that said it was completely rebuilt. New block, pistons, electronics, carbs rebuilt etc. I had it back to him 3 times because it either did not start or did not run right. Now he tells me it is a prop problem. I have a 19 pitch prop on it and he says I...

    Never named a boat before....

This one I may keep. It is a 19.6 foot superfisherman. I am thinking about naming her. As far as I know she hasn't had a name ever before. So is there a procedure (other than one that requires mass quantities of Liquor)?

    Finally ready

Ok the starcraft is ready for Canadian use now. Took her out today for the second time and all the minor problems fixed. The 135 hp merc that was just rebuilt purrs like a kitten. It did need the fins on the bottom to keep from cavitating. The 20hp merc kicker ran well. Now just 2 more weeks...

    Another what is this thread

I put a 1980 merc 20hp kicker on the starcraft, and it has a control box with the whole nine yards. My question is, what is the little round knob in the front bottom of the control box? It has wires to it. I had to take the box apart to install new cables. It is not the choke or the neutral...

    Wrong prop?

I just tried out my new tome starcraft superfisherman 19.6footer with a rebuilt 135hp merc on the back.Maiden voyage was mostly uneventful except that I was cavitating a lot before getting on plane. Had to back off throttle to keep from overreving the engine. I feel like I am propped wrong...

I may have done something wrong!

I just bought a used 20hp merc as a kicker to the 19.6 foot superfisherman. I have a 135 hp merc on the back now and will add this as a kicker for emergencies and trolling on lake Michigan. My question is for the starcraft guys is ...is my transom strong enough for this motor and the other...

    A good deal or not?

I can buy a 1975 merc 20hp with controls and electric start, long shaft that runs good for $550.00. I am thinking about that as a kicker for the 19'6" starcraft superfisherman I have that has a 135hp on it. I like the idea of a kicker because this boat goes to Canada twice a year and I get...

    Where do I start?

Ok I have a 1991 Starcraft superfisherman with a 1984 merc 135hp on the back. The tach does not work. I know this is asking a lot but where do I start with this, and how do I test for anything. Should I get a new gauge and start there? Any help, major thanks.

    For my Canadian friends

I just got a picture from Temple Bay Lodge showing the ice is out already at Eagle Lake by Dryden. Is this true? Or is it an older photo? Usually the ice is not out until the end of may. I am coming up to Pat's place... Cedar Point Lodge in June, so see ya there.

    Cavitation plate trolling motor

Anyone here have any opinion of those type of trolling motors? I have a 19' 6" Starcraft Superfisherman. It has a 135hp Merc. I mainly use it for Canadian fishing and just would like a motor to back up and keep me in place for the most part. I really do no like the bow mounts as they take up...

    Mounting a fuel filter/separator

I have a new fuel/water separator to install. Is it ok to mount it in the splash well ahead of the outboard? It is a 19' starcraft superfisherman. I like that location because it would be easy to get to. I could drain any water right out easily and see it every time I take out the boat. The...

    Convertible top question.

So I got the old convertible top from the previous owner... The metal is like new but the mice had gotten to the top. It will make a good pattern. What is a reasonable price to pay for a top? It is for the 19'6" superfisherman. thanks bob

    Gave one away today

I sold my other boat today, or should I say gave it away. It was a 1979 Thundercraft ss 180 with a 140 hp mercury IO. Everything worked real well. It had a bow cover, convertible top with side windows and rear cover as well. I also included the storm cover that went from the windshield to...

Update on my 1994 or 1991 as it really is

Well the previous owner came through with the convertable top and a hummingbird plotter and a few other things that he had stripped of the boat prior to sale. The marina is going to ship them out to me at no charge even though I offered to pay for the shipping. Brian would have none of this...
