    I was going to winterize the system through the stern drive intake with a bucket & earmuff contraption that I made years ago,.. but this year the earmuffs were not stored properly and would not form a good enough seal. SO!,.. Its supposed to get very cold tonight so I removed the thermostat...

    Well the work has started, outdrive is off,..engine is out. Weather turned wet today, next step start ripping, cutting and grinding.

    engine coupler woes

    1980 Thompson Sportmen, w/165 Merc (inline 6) Repowered her last year, reinstalled fresh engine (aligned) with old coupler, less than 10 hrs later coupler let go. New Sierra coupler installed and aligned, 20 hrs and it let go again, Im sure I had the engine aligned correctly using the alignment...
