    spring vapor lock?

It's in and working fine. Fired up immediately. Thank you for the evolving assistance. You good people enable me to own and maintain a boat, which I probably couldn't afford otherwise. Conclusion: storage mistake leads to corroded components. cleaned and reset exhaust manifolds...

    spring vapor lock?

I wound up purchasing a Carter AFB-4.3L-Marine-Electric Remanufactured 4 Barrel 4.3L Marine Carburetor - Electric Choke, Carter-AFB. It's virtually identical to the one I'm removing except that it has a shiny pewter like finish instead of the painted (sealed?) version. It also has a fuel...

4.3 firing order - this sequence looks wrong

Upon further inspection, it IS possible that I switched the #2/#4 wires (there is sufficient length to reach either way), which would make the correct sequence: Is this more likely?

4.3 firing order - this sequence looks wrong

BEFORE removing any wires, I traced them all, and this is what I found: The numbers correspond to the FWD numbers on the distributor cap. I would expect some symmetry, and this just seems off. I replaced the plugs recently, and marked them, and this is also the only way the existing wires...

    spring vapor lock?

Thanks. need for tune up: cap/rotor/wires. I just replaced the plugs, then decided it was time for a full tune up, especially with carb replacement. Why use old jets/step up rods?

    spring vapor lock?

rebuild kit is on the way. I'm going over to pull the carb, today. While I'm at it, it's been 10 years (time flies) since the distributor & rotor were replaced or it was tuned up. I'm thinking that I should do that while im at it. Is it better to do all at once, or get it running in...

    spring vapor lock?

I'm considering it, but the chock flap mechanism is frozen closed. I don't know if the electric choke was resisting it, but its not smooth. Would that change your suggestion?

    spring vapor lock?

one year later... I apparently didn't get around to finishing the job. Where I left off was diagnosing a starting/fuel/carb issue. Upon inspecting the carb, I found corrosion. I have never maintained it, but I'm certain this was "clean" when I put it away. Despite surface corrosion, the...
