    Honda BF7.5 won’t idle, so far I’ve

I didn’t soak it. What should I soak it in? Don’t know if float is set correctly but did not mess with that. Just did main nozzle, mixture jet, sprayed every channel I could find. Don’t know if boat stays full, how would I check that? I have mixture screw set at recommended setting (1 - 7/8)...

Can I switch out Mercury 9.9 kill switch?

    Help with a 1992 Mercury 2 stroke

serial number 0D147179 I was "gifted" this 9.9 Mercury 2 stroke. Idea was to get it running and sell it. Needed a new CDI switch box. Got one, installed, have spark. Have fuel hose, but no fuel tank. Clipped one end of hose to motor, pinned open other end and dropped into gas can with 50-1...

    Alternator Wire Routing

Awesome, thanks. I only have regular things like gauges and a 5” fish finder. The fish finder is wired directly to a battery as it was kicking out when we started the engine. So my plan is to use battery with the finder to start and run boat to fishing spot. Then when using battery to start and...

    Mercruiser 140 winterization.

    Mercruiser 140 winterization.

Could not find info on my specific set up. I have a 1977, Mercruiser 140 and Mr-1 leg. I have opened the three petcocks and drained the bloc and manifold. I have also lowered the leg into the down position. Then I saw a video that said to turn engine over for 5.6 seconds to "purge" the water in...

Did research re slow trim tilt but…

It was 100% the brushes. There was gunk in the little tracks and they could not slide freely. Good cleaning and it’s working great! I ended up using two mini zip ties to hold brushes in place, then snipped them out once I got it over the armature. I think your way would have been easier to...
