    power loss under load

    my i35 johnson idle fine compression ok put in gear and it will run fine for a while the stall as soon as i put in gear .when i try restart it always starts up but you have to fight it to get it in gear to go 1500 rpms tops to get back to dock when i spray carb cleaner in carbs it will sometimes...

    boat idles good but when i put in gear wants to stall will not power uo past 1800 rpms but a couple of times it ran at over 4000 rpms then boged down ..i supect fuel so i rebuilt carbs that didnot help i think it might electrical????<br />cyl getting spark at idle and compression ok not perfect...

    i have a 1976 135 hp johnson my compression is 155 in 3 cyl 125 in one ...i have a used powerhead 1977 johnson 85hp v4 it looks the same has 120 compression each cyl can i just change the power head and electics and carbs ..and is my difference in compression a concern 155 all 3 - 1 at 125lbs

    1976 johnson bogs on acceleration at 1800rpm wont get any faster but when i over ride carbs at rear on boat with other driver it will go faster the linkage seems ok i did piston replacement and did not mess with settings got good compression good spark fuel ball is hard cleaned carb spark going...

    compression +difference i just installed 1 new piston in my 135hp 1976 johnson i have 155lbs preasure in 3 clys 125 in new cyl. i ran boat for 2 hours had lack of power would not turn over 18oo rpms checked compression again still same ..cleaned carbs seems to run better but i am running on...

    bad piston and score cly on 135hp johnson 1976

    i have a 1976 johnson 4 cyl with 1 bad piston and a slightly scored cyl is it worth the trouble to remove the power head to fix problem on and old motor can you replace this piston on the motor with powerhead installed<br />please help bobogle@aol.com
