    It's a 1961, RDS-23. I was rewiring the start switch and upon tightening one of the 'M' terminals, it broke, leaving half a screw hole and a bit of the tab. Tried soldering... no go. Sooo..... can I just install a simple toggle switch to open and close the "M" terminals, thereby shorting out...

    Rustoleum?

    Seeing as I can't find Rustoleum in the colours I want, but I can in Tremclad; does anyone know if Tremclad is just as suitable to paint my aluminum open 3 seater, inside and out? They're from the same manufacturer, so maybe they are interchangeable??? Please and thank you.

    Work continues on my 16' runabout...

    Took the motor off. Wasn't too bad. I first checked specs on the weight - only 150lb., so it was an easy lift. Then had to grind off most of the 1/4-20 nuts and a couple bolt heads holding the rear corner plates and thru-transom fasteners. The transom doesn't look all that bad. The laminations...

    Just picked up a Starcraft, model 16SSCT, s/n STR11931M74J. Just an open 3 seater with a '61 Johnson 40 on it. Though I've been told the SS stands for SuperSport, I've no idea what the CT stands for, and I'm guessing by the serial number that it's a '74. I may have paid a little too much...

    40 hp rope start hooks???
