    Johnson 85hp low compression on one cylinder.

    I have a 1978 Johnson Javelin 85hp. Compression is 116, 115, 115, and 100. The motor runs and works pretty well. Top speed of 37mph with a 17 pitch aluminum prop. Top rpm is 4500 even. Should I adjust the throttle linkage? Does it NEED a new ring kit or piston??? Should I just use it as is?

    Best prop for speed on 78 johnson 85hp

    Title pretty much says it, I have a 78 johnson 85hp with a 13.5x17 prop. Turns 4550 rpm and goes 36mph, want to be doing at least 45mph. What stainless steel prop pitch/style/brand/size should I get????

    1970 johnson 20hp only runs for 5 sec.

    1968 Evinrude 40hp Flywheel rubbing against coils...

    I have an evinrude 40 hp big twin, and I was trying to get it to get spark, and now I have spark on one side but not the other. The one getting spark's coil pack is rubbing against the flywheel... anyone know how to fit that?

    ok im new here so go easy. I recently bought a 1968 evinrude 40hp big twin. Model number is 40853-a. It has about 2ft of wires coming out of the motor, then its all cut off, it has seven wires.
