    74 Johnson Hub / Reverse Problem

    I have a 15 hp Johnson model 1se74. It says electric on the back of the motor cover if this means anything? I have two issues. It won't fully engage into reverse. I will go if I play with it a little, buy it takes some doing. I tried adjusting the linkage inside the engine cover... no help...

    I just purchased a 1974 15hp Johnson. The motor will go into reverse but it I really have to play with the shift lever a bit as it won't immediately engage. I tried playing with the linkage adjustment inside the motor cover but no matter how I adjust it it seems that I am limited by the metal...
