    Leg oil?? aftermarket ok?

    I usually buy the OMC Hi Vis gear oil for the leg's, but wondering who makes it?? Since OMC is out of business for like 10 years now, locally its $11 a litre, is the aftermarket stuff like Castrol EP90 marine gear oil okay to use?

    Will my controls work on newer engine?

    30 psi compression in 1cyl what to do?

    Gauges? What do I need???

    I want to get a set of gauges for my new old boat. Its got a tach and speedo now that don't work. So Id like to replace them all. I'd like a tach speedo, engine temp if possible and volts, and trim if that'll work. Its a 1980 Johnson 115, anything specific in need for that. Thanks

    Lower romoval on 1980 115 johnson

    I'm trying to take off the lower on my motor, I've got it in reverse, all bolts out, and the lower drops down like 1.5" but thats is?? What gives, anything I'm missing.

    overheating merc 9.8, exhaust in cooling water

    Impeller replacement on Merc 9.8 help!

    I'm trying to replace the impeller on this motor. And can't get it apart, maybe its just tight cause its old. I've taken off the two nuts for the lower housing, but it wont budge? Do I have to disconnect the shifter or anything. I don't have a manual. Any help would be great, thanks!!
