    How hard is it to rebuild an alpha 1 gen 1 lower leg?

    Only part on my power drive that hasn't been rebuild or replaced is the lower leg and I'm thinking of picking up a spare lower to rebuild over the winter so I can have a new setup next year. Is it hard to do with basic tools in a basic shop?

    1988 3.0 where do these wires go?

    One I'm assuming is the ground for the alternator, where should it go on the alt? The other is a mystery. Any suggestions?

    How do I clean vinyl seats?

    I picked up a set of decent shape vinyl seats but there are some small rust stains etc on on them and some tiny black dots all over from being in the elements. What are the options for cleaning these things up? I've already tried dish soap and a brush.

    I've got the but to try and build a small hydroplane or v-bottom out of plywood this winter. I want something that's fast like 55mph fast. It would just be for ripping around the lake or the river, not racing. Anyone ever done this?

    I have access to a metal shop that can break some stringers for me out of aluminum for a really good price. I'm wondering though if 1/8" thick aluminum will be thick enough? Also what would the best way to attach them be?

    Spray foam floatation?

    Redoing the floor of my 1988 maxum 1700. I am considering using a 2lb poly iso close cell foam instead of standard floatation foam. The advantage being that it will never hold water and help stiffen the hull. Any thoughts?
