    1984 merc 150 cough and pop

    this engine is hard to start and keep going it will cough and sneeze then die. after several attempts it will finally smooth out and run. its worse when its cold and better when its hot. carbs are fresh and ive got a good prime. any ideas? thanks.

    1-ply tires?

    I have a 17'6" fiberglass bass boat on a single axle trailer. It has a 150 horse motor on it. The trailer has regular 1-ply car tires on it. Is this going to hold up to the heat and beat-up roads of Oklahoma?

    fuel water separator

    my '84 merc 150 doesn't have a fuel-water separator on it. How important are these? I add mercury fuel treatment to the gas, but I never keep a full tank, which would allow condensation in the tank right?

    14 hp McCulloch

    My 14 hp McCulloch runs smoking hot. Ive put a new impeller on it, but i'm not seeing any water flow out of the holes on back. The old impeller was totally shot so I've never seen water flow out of the holes. Is water supposed to flow out of these two holes? They are about 3/8". Is there a...

    84 merc 150 ignition trouble

    1984 merc 150 has lost fire on #2 cylinder. all other cylinders show strong spark. the rectifier was bad when I got the boat maybe that has stressed some of the other ignition parts. Ive tried a new coil and ive tried switching the stator leads on the switch boxes but the problem stays on that...
