    I was light touching the silicone to remove it and felt like it was metal instead of a rubber seal

    Jerry, in the picture I posted of the control shaft with a little of the red rtv silicone is that the seal around the shaft or is that just metal? I’m pretty ignorant to this

    How would I go about replacing the seal on control rod shaft because previous owner rtv siliconed it and when I pulled lower the rubber boot to driveshaft and ring wasn’t on it but upon further inspection the boot was just inside and I can’t locate the copper ring , my hands are to big to fit in...

    And someone also put RTV silicone on my seal for the control shaft , it’s a project but still kinda flustered

    when I took the lower and seen the drive shaft it had no boot or keeper , but the splines looked “knicked” further inspection I looked inside and seen the rubber boot look at me just hanging out in there , but no sign or the copper ring
