    Trying to find the year of my evinrude 50 hp vro

    I have tried to find the exact year of my motor. I have asked the previous owner and he THINKS it's an 87. The number on the quarter sized plug on top of the block is G2516707. I took the number to my local PRO Marine store and THEY can't seem to reference it. Can anyone help?
