    Where should i place the blower vents for the engine. Currently i have one blower taking out air and one bringing in air. I have four vents on the top of the engine. Please advise. Thanks.

    Mercruiser 470 Shifting hard into gear when engine is running

    470 Starter wiring

    So i installed a new ignition coil, Slave solenoid (see pic), Carburetor, Starter w/Starter solenoid. Hooked everything up still when i hit the ignition all i hear is the click. Do i still need a slave solenoid if i have a starter solenoid?

    I was messing around with the Starter Solenoid from my 470 and i think i did something to it. I have an extra starter (please see pic), not sure if this one has a Starter Solenoid on the top or do i need to order a new one. Thanks for all the help!

    470 Starts then Stops

    When i try to start the motor, i hear it start but does not continue to run. Once in a while when trying to start the motor, the motor starts but struggles to run.     I/O half flooded ...help

    I just got back from my boat. To make a long story short, my mercruiser 470 was half flooded up to the belly of the starter. Is there any way I can save the motor? Also what device can I use to stick a hose down to the hull to pump out the rest for the water? Thanks in advance.

    Mercruiser 470 Temp

    I changed the heat exchanger from the 3" to the 4". The engine does run a bit cooler and does cool down much faster with the 4" heat exchanger. I am running about 180 at 3/4 throttle. Is that normal? I did notice that at some moments when i did go 3/4 throttle the engine temp would go up to 180...
