    3.0l cranks and shuts down

    i had carb off cleaned and new gaskets , accelerator pump ball was stuck, now its clean and spraying wonderfully , bowl is full , after cranking for a second or two it shuts down like its starved for fuel , would this be the power valve

    merc 3.0l carb problem ,no gas

    I had the carb off during engine rebuild. Reinstalled everything and when i give it gas the carb is dry not getting any gas. I pulled off line from fuel pump and it is pumping gas to it. What could be keeping it from spraying is it all mechanical or is there something electrical maybe i wired wrong.

    3.0l water in oil, block and head pressure check

    i have a 3.0l that had water in the oil, i changed the oil and after shutdown it sat a few minutes and clouded back up, previous owner thought it had a cracked block. the block and head have been pressure checked , what could have caused this they are fine.     Water in oil after shutdown

    Had oil in water , changed ran a few minutes checked after shutdown clean waited 20 min, and oil had a considerable amount of water in it. I took engine out and apart , block is not cracked , head pressure checks, manifold is good , what the heck could it have been?

    Ever heard of filing a bare block with gas to check for crack?

    Local machine shop said they fill the bare block water system with gas to check for leaks, they said gas will immediately seep through a crack and show you where the leak is.

    I have a cracked mercruiser 3.0l block, its cracked in the area where the lifters are on the side, Ive read you cant repair a crack that is not to the outside, why is that? I believe i could have it welded.
