    I am boat hunting, found nice boat with a 75 Mariner. Is mariner the same as merc or not? If not is mariner obsolete, are parts still being made and supporting the mariner outboards. Is Jonhson any better than merc? Any advise would be great.

    Is a 75 HP Mariner a Good Engine

    I am looking at buying a used 16 foot boat with a 1988 75HP oil injected mariner. Is this a good engine? what is the difference between the mercury and the mariner engine? Will this be enough power for this boat? It will be used on a lake to fish and pull a tube.

    My brother in law has a 1973? 60 HP 3 cylinder jonhson he wants to get rid of, he is out of boating. It runs but needs a piston, when I phoned about parts the dealer told me these are obsolete and junk and were no good to begin with. What is the opinion out there on this motor.
