    omc regulators$$$$$alternate?

    Just wondering if anyone knows why omc regulators are so expensive? 200 plus for a crappy little electronics part,must be some real hi tech stuff. Anyone know if you could just hook up a regulator from a ford? I guess the tach would be a problem. Let me know what you guys think

    Silicone on head?

    Just installed and test ran my '95 115 faststrike, It looks like water in one cylinder, I noticed what looks like some sort of silicon based goo around the head and no visible gasket like my old '76. Is this normal?

    Motor id without model #

    I finally got my faststrike at forwardair but the darn thing has a big red barrel plug. It's supposed to be a '96 but the model # is j115gleoc indicating a '95. What is the likelyhood that someone swapped midsections of a 92 or earlier?<br />Maybe they just swapped electricals, is there any way...

    Which gauge wire on harness?

    I am trying to retro fit my '96 faststrike to my old controls etc. I want to change the connectors on the old controls to the newer deutsch style connectors that are on the new harness. I can order a kit to do this but I need to know what size pins to order? 14-16 or 16-18 hard to say wich ones...

    I bought a used harness online and it just showed up at my door, I was running details through my head to try and figure out what goes where as my old setup is "old".     Is 115 Faststrike o.k. for saltwater use?

    I recently purchased a 1996 115 faststrike for cheap on ebay and have not recieved it yet, I have noticed that they are almost always on freshwater bass boats, I plan on using it mostly in saltwater do these faststrikes have any stainless hardware or corrosion protection for saltwater use?

    Hi I am new to this forum business so bare with me. I am currently running a 77' 115 evinrude, I have a 96' 115 faststrike on the way. Will my old controls and harness work? If it won't just hook up does omc make adapters for this sort of thing? Please Help!! Thanks
