    Ballast System...

Has anyone installed a, semi-automated, ballast system? I'm tossing around the idea of putting a couple sacks in my boat and then hooking the two hoses from the sacks to a place I can access them and then just hook up the pump from there. I don't want to drill holes in the boat just for this.

    Cool Fuel Cover

I'm looking for a part number for the Cool Fuel Cover for a 2007 Mercruiser 5.0 MPI with a Bravo III drive. I believe it is parts 2 and 19 in the manual on page 426 (5A-9). I believe you can buy just the cover, or the entire module; I just need the cover.

    Tell me about sealed U-joints...

I have a 2007 Mercruiser 5.0MPI with a Bravo III drive. It's my understanding that these have a "sealed u-joint". Not sure what that means exactly, especially if you get a tear in the bellows or something. I've done a search and can't find much information and I don't see much in the manual...

Split Fuel Module - Mercruiser 5.0MPI

Update to the below; it's not the raw water pump, I was incorrect, it is the fuel module, right next to the seawater pump. The thing is split, front to back, along the side. The mechanic is still going to fix it, but I was looking online for the part, it appears to be a special order...

    Fixing boat cover snap

I have a Sunbrella mooring cover for my boat, but one of the snaps pulled clean through the fabric leaving a slightly larger hole so I cannot simply put a new snap in its place. How do I go about putting a patch over the hole that will then allow me to put in a snap?

    Allatoona covered slip

I'm researching a covered slip on Allatoona and wondering if there is anyone on here that has a cover wet slip on Alltoona that can give me an idea of prices. The one quote I just got was for $269/month with quarterly and yearly discounts. This would be for a 24' boat.

    Mercruiser impeller

I could use a little help on a couple things; my computer crashed late last week and I lost all my files, one of those being the service manual for my engine so I'm trying to find it again. I don't have my serial number handy, but it is a 2007 Mercruiser 5.0 MPI with a Bravo III drive. Also...

    Camping on Allatoona with boat

Lake Allatoona is my primary boating lake, but I have never camped on it before. This Summer we are doing a family camping outing on Allatoona so what I'm looking for are recommendations on campsites that allow you to beach your boat overnight. Thanks!

Tire pressure: max pressure and actual pressure

Ok, I have a question about tire pressure. My tires are a "C" load range with a max pressure rating of 50psi. What pressure should I run the tires at? 50 psi, 45 psi? It's a tandem axle trailer and the tires are rated at 1750lbs at 50 psi.

    Trailering and overdrive

I have an '06 F150 Lariat 4WD that is a 4 speed automatic with overdrive. I thought I remember seeing on here that you should not pull the boat while in overdrive; is that correct? If so, what about on the highway?

Time for new truck tires...which ones?

Ok, I know I may get slammed for part of this, but I have an '05 F150 XLT 2WD truck, with tow package. The last couple times out I've had some slippage problems on the ramp, which I've never had before. Part of it is our ramps suck, they are asphalt so they get slick. My stock tires have 35k...

    Mounting transducer to transom board

I'm getting ready to mount a transducer to my transom and had a couple questions. First, I'm planning on using a mounting plate; can I just 5200 this to the transom without screwing it in? Second, I have a catameran style hull with a Bravo III drive and I was thinking of mounting the...

    Acworth, GA Wakeboard Tournament

The first event of the Pro Wakeboard Tour is again in Acworth, GA (my home port). I've never gone to the show, but some friends of ours and us were planning on taking our boats out this year to watch the show. Anybody been to this tournament and know what if/how you can take your boat to...

Someone's gonna need a skeg job...

So, I'm at the ramp yesterday getting ready to launch my boat. It's later in the day, nobody there except one guy and his girlfriend. He has is SUV on the ramp, not a big deal, there are two lanes, and he is in the boat, at the dock with her pretty much having a make out session. Anyways...

    94 Mercruiser idle problem

my buddy just bought a 94 Sea Ray with a V8 Mercruiser, carburated, with an Alpha 1 outdrive. The problem he is having is; when he first puts the boat in the water, it fires right up and runs good. The idle seems a little low, but is ok. Then, after he runs it for a while and then goes to put...

Solo launch - keys in or out...

When you all solo launch, do you leave the keys in the boat, boat running, at the dock while you go back to the vehicle and park it? I think I've done both based on the situation i.e. how many people are at the ramp/dock.

    Mercruiser gear oil leak

My friend just bought a 1994 Sea Ray that has a 5.0L V8 Mercruiser with an Alpha drive. The manual number appears to be: 90-821052940. I can't find the boatfix manual index for this particular model, link would be great! On to the question, before he took it out the first time, he noticed...

Tims Ford Lake - Lost Creek

I'm going to be taking a trip later this Summer to Tims Ford Lake, we are renting a house on the lake. The rental agent said the closest place to launch is at Lost Creek. Anyone familiar with the area, can you tell me where the Lost Creek ramp is? I can't seem to find it on a map or a Google...

    Lake Allatoona folks

Well, it looks like the bit of rain we have gotten this year for Allatoona has actually put us OVER the Army Corps projections for this time of the year and several of the ramps are already open. My question is, for those of you on Allatoona that pay for a covered slip, how much are you paying...

    Impellers, why so weak?

So I've read about impellers failing and falling apart and that many people replace their every other year, or after so many hours. My question is; why can't they manufacture something that lasts a lot longer? Why don't they make them out of stainless steel or something like that, which would...
