    If I idle for a bit, she dies on throttle up

    '89 johnny, rebuilt 100 psi x 3, Carbs rebuilt, good fuel,did not do this before I replaced the fuel line/ bulb/ connections, with sierra parts, because of an o-ring leak in my OMC parts.<br />It didn't do this last year, but I never idled this long last year.<br />Think it's just garbage...

    I had one given to me, it has great compression but has erratic spark, is it worth fixing as an antique or should I give it away/scrap it. Any guess on the age? I don't have the #'s handy.

    fuel leaks

    Fuel leaks at the connection between the omc gas tank and the quick disconnect. I think it's aftermarket should I replace the oring or buy an oem assy?

    Wot rpm

    Alot of people seem really concerned that their motor spins at max rpm...<br />Is it better not to rev the snot out of it say run at 4000-5000 rpm on a motor that is rated 5000-6000, or should you always be in the recommended range if you are on plane and cruising?

    Buying a timing light today and going to time my motor. The manual says all 3 cyl except 70hp is 2 degrees atdc, is this correct and is putting it in a barrel, in forward the same as tying it to the dock?

    The spec on my motor CE65WMLZ calls for QL16V plugs they are about $12 bucks a piece, can I use QL77JC4's instead without worry?<br />Thanks

    Base timing

    I assume poor base timing will contribute to poor idling and stalling, can you time this by ear/feel and not a gun?<br />Is it that critical at idle?<br />Thanks

    65 stalls off idle

    I have a 90 (we think) 65 Evinrude that will idle all day long in neutral and runs great at all rpms.<br />Power head is rebuilt 105 psi x 3 , carbs have been cleaned well. Running now @ 50/1 no vro.<br /><br />Idles in gear at 800 rpm but will only do that for a 5-10 seconds before is sputters...

    VRO line ID

    Goin' to the cottage tommorrow a.m. (yep gonna make it a loooong weekend) and am going to eliminate the vro pump on my 19?? 65 hp johns?rude.<br />What is the ID of the line feeding the pump at the motor so I can bring a bolt to plug and clamp it?

    My outboards has the model CE65WMLZ on the plate.It is charcoal.I can not locate it specifically in my Chilton manual, is it a commercial version? What is the difference?<br />Thanks
