    Johnson hd25 success + what material to make gasket from?

    Well it took probably over 50 hours worth of work, but I have my seized, rusted through, corroded heap of junk working, although with medium to low compression. A little cleaning of the points and re soldering the wires to the coils and now it reliably starts. Thanks for all the help guys...

    HD25 starter cord rewind

    Is there a special method to rewinding these things? The spring is extremely strong and I can't turn it by hand anymore after about 3-4 turns. edit: forum software is difficult http://i.imgur.com/dqk8GiK.jpg

    Seized power heads, mixing and matching parts

    I've got two seized powerheads for a johnson hd25, what is the safest method to free the pistons and remove them for examination? Can I disconnect the pistons from the crank shaft and then hit them on the head? Once I free them, is it okay to let them scrape off the rust on the walls on the way...

    Johnson HD25 magneto plate removal

    Is there a special method for removing the magneto plate on these motors? The magnet in the center won't come off the shaft.
