    hey guys and dolls , my best friend has just got a boat an motor real cheep.and what i am wondering is the year of the motor and are there any problems with these ? the motor is a mercury 350 35 hp twin serial #2242148,what is the fuel and oil mix for this engine ?

    my speedo just quit the last time i was out ,so i traced the wire (tube) all the way to the rear of the boat and it hooks up to a plastic piece that sits in the water ?any ideas on how to repair or should i just replace it?

    oil plug!

    how much metal shavings is too much,(i pulled out the bottom screw to replace lower end oil and there is shavings there again!!) this is on a 1973 johson 65

    i have noticed a bolt that screws in and out on the front of my shifter colom,there is one that is called a friction screw ( i know what this one does)but the one on top i have no idea any body know what this is?
