    Ignition Coil Compatibility Question

    Is an ignition coil from a 1977 Evinrude 115hp compatible with a 1979 Evinrude 115hp? If not, would that cause two cylinders to not fire all the time or make the engine die at idle? Would it make the engine run bad basically? Underpowered? Thanks, Matt

    Need help with what this part does.

    I have a suspicion that faulty wiring to the SOLENOID ASSY is causing two of my cylinders to not fire. Could you tell me what the part does in the picture? I have checked compression, fuel delivery, and spark. They all checked out good. Thanks Matt

    I was wondering how to know for sure the engine is charging the battery. I have done all the test on the charging components but I didn't know the battery was hooked up to the output of the charging system. Is the battery being charged through the wiring harness? Please help

    How do I know if my battery is being charged by the charging system of the motor? I tested the charging system and everything checked out ok. I got 9.11 amps output from the rectifier/stator setup. My question is how do I know if my battery is receiving that 9.11 amps?
