    Late mercury force 75 and older 85hp force

    A question i've been meaning to ask. The mercury forces are most likely rated at 75 at the prop while the older non merc forces were rated at 85 at the engine. My question is...were the 85hp actually rated at 75hp at the prop? Are these the same engines by different manufacturers? Thanks guys.

    Stator retrofit?

    Can a '90's+ stator be added to an older 85hp force and work properly? Are they the same size? I know they have different amount of poles but will it affect the ignition? I ask because I want to change out to give me a much greater selection in tachs. Thanks guys and gals!!

    Timing an 80's volvo penta with electronic ignition

    One question...is there a wire that needs to be disconnected from the distributor in order to set the timing correctly? I'm wondering because we're getting a slight rattle from the valve train at high rpms or is that normal?

    Inductive tachometer on 20 pole force?!?
